About
Welcome to the new Berger Bits! Allow me to explain what this is all about.
For over fifteen years, a friend and I have been writing about tech on various web sites, the latest being Bityard.com. Sadly, Bityard folded in early 2011 while I still had products that I agreed to review. But even before then, I was also looking for a way to create my own blog to talk about whatever I felt like talking about. Bityard’s closure finally prompted me to take my under-utilized TheBergerBits.com domain and convert it to what you see today.
Topics on The Berger Bits primarily focus on technology, video games, home theatre, and related topics, but with my own personal spin on things. I don’t serve a corporate master and I’m not afraid to say what I think, so you can expect brutal honesty on this site, especially with articles that are written by me.
Please be aware that I’m still trying to get the site to a level of design and functionality with which I am comfortable. As far as I’m concerned, The Berger Bits it in a beta stage while I continue to improve the site. So, please enjoy what little I currently have to offer. Just keep in mind that there will be a lot more to see in the near future!
And, of course, the legal bickering …
I chose the name “The Berger Bits” for four very simple reasons:
- My last name (Berger, duh)
- My nickname from family members has been “Bits” for decades
- As a geek I appreciate that all of this comes to you in the form of binary 1s and 0s, called “bits”
- This web site is for publishing my own tidbits of information that I think will be of interest to you
This web site is my own and has no connection to any other web site (except widescreen.org, which is also mine) or product that uses the phrases “berger bits”, “burger bits”, or anything remotely similar to those.
